How SkinCare & Injectables Go Hand-In-Hand

Gone are the days of having to be secretive about having “work done”, and we should all take a moment to celebrate that! We are all striving to be our best selves and are finally starting to openly recognize that the best way to achieve our wellness goals is by working with professionals who can offer us honest and attainable services. Injectables are becoming a normal routine of everyday wellness and Wild Moon Collective has been providing a wide variety of services to residents in and around Libertyville, Il for years! But what about skincare? Should we continue with our normal skincare routines after we get injectables such as Botox or facial fillers? Studies show that people are more likely to neglect their regular skincare routine after getting these services. In this post we will talk about injectables and skin care, and why both are crucial when it comes to your beauty routine.

INJECTABLES AND FILLERS:

Injectables and Fillers have proven to be a safe and dependable method of reducing the inevitable effects time and genetics have on our skin. Choosing the correct treatment is important and there are a variety of ways that we can help you achieve your goal of being your most beautiful, healthy self. Injectables are typically used to treat fine lines and wrinkles while fillers are used to treat volume loss such as thinning lips or the hollowed parts of our face such as sunken cheekbones and under-eyes.  Some of the most popular services we offer in both areas are:

Botox®:

Botox works by relaxing muscles and blocking chemical signals, preventing muscles from being able to contract. In addition to reducing wrinkles, it can also be used to treat TMJ, excess sweating, and reducing the appearance of large gums.

Dysport®:

Dysport is similar to Botox in that it also works by relaxing the muscles and preventing contraction. Its most popular use is for the deep lines between the eyebrows. Additionally, it can be used to treat deep forehead wrinkles, crowfeet, and the “ring lines” or neck bands that appear around the neck. Because Dysport limits muscle movement it also works in preventing the formation of new wrinkles.

Restylane®:

Restylane is a filler, meaning this treats wrinkles not by freezing the skin and limiting muscle movement like the two treatments listed above, but by adding volume to certain areas of the face that may have lost volume over time. Popularly used as a lip treatment it can also be used in hollow cheeks and under-eyes, as well as nasolabial folds (the deep folds that extend from the nostril to the edge of the mouth).

Sulptra®:

Sculptra is a long-term filler treatment that works by stimulating collagen production and increasing volume and skin elasticity. The results of this treatment can last up to 2 years. Common areas for this treatment are hollowed cheeks and under-eyes as well as jowls. It can also be used in the hip and butt areas.

Why is SkinCare Important?

“If Botox and fillers are like exercise, then facial products are like a healthy diet, you can get a good result with one, but focusing on both will always be better.” Harper's Bazaar

While injectables and fillers work to improve the look of your skin, they do not address the health of your skin. This is why a good skincare routine is so important to maintain. Let’s talk about why it’s so common to neglect regular skin care after getting fillers and injectables and why it is important to stop this cycle.

You Look Amazing!

Your fine lines and wrinkles have faded, and your cheeks and lips are fuller. Your injections have left you feeling like you did when you were a teenager. And with good reason! But don’t let that be the reason you neglect a good skincare routine that will maintain the health of your skin long-term.

You Want to Save Money:

We understand that injectables are an investment, but skimping on good skincare products can reduce the returns of your investment.

A Good SkinCare Routine Enhances the Effects of Injectables:

Dermatologists will tell you that a good skincare routine will not only enhance the effects of injectables but make them last longer as well!

What Types of SkinCare Products Are Best After Injectables?

Using medical-grade skincare products is the best way to help enhance and prolong the effects of your injectables as well as improve the overall health of your skin. Skincare lines such as ZO and Colorescience are among the top-of-the-line products we offer in our SKINCARE SHOP.
